Southglen Pond
& Nature Trail

This secret gem is ideally situated in the heart of Southglen and is easily reached through its extensive paved trail system. A mulched path connects the north entrance on W 114th Street to the pond, providing several tranquil spots for nature observation and fishing, including two with benches. The area is home to a variety of wildlife, including foxes, deer, beavers, turtles, chipmunks, muskrats, frogs, and a diverse range of birds, butterflies, and insects. Due to the pond's size and shallow depth, most anglers catch bluegill and sunfish, although an occasional bass does turn up.

Cedar Creek
Waterfalls and Waterways

Cedar Creek residents can enjoy several stunning waterfalls & waterways winding through the community. The most iconic waterfalls in our community cascade down the cliffs along Cedar Creek Parkway, just south of Valley Drive. Here you will find five falls with varying levels of intensity. The water then tranquilly rushes down the sculpted spillway to Hidden Glen pond.

Hidden Glen Park features a couple of waterfalls, a broad cascade on the west end, along with a small unnamed cascade on the east side.

Additionally, a lesser-known unnamed waterfall is hidden in the retention pond at the northeast corner of Cedar Creek Parkway and 103rd Street. Seasonal rivulets can also be found along the Shadow Lake Nature Trail.

You’ll find a spillway behind the clubhouse that helps keep the waters of Cedar Creek flowing beautifully. This gentle cascade feeds into the pond just beyond the Clubhouse, adding to the natural charm of the area.
